Russ Andrews USB MiniZap™

USB MiniZap™ is designed to be used in any component with an unused USB A or USB B socket; such as a streaming amplifier, TV, stand-alone streamer or DAC.

About MiniZap™ technology

MiniZaps use our Zapperator technology. Originally developed to address RF and EM interference in speaker cables, the tech was so successful that we decided to adapt it to combat the same issues with line-level and vinyl-level signals.

Designed by the highly respected audio designer Ben Duncan, MiniZaps use a unique Zobel-type network specifically for use in high-fidelity audio applications. Put simply, they work to convert RF and EM interference to heat, which is then dissipated.

This ‘burning-off’ of the RFI/EMI noise is extremely efficient and has a key advantage over many other types of filters which simply ‘bat-away’ interference on the assumption that it will not return elsewhere to cause problems.

Yes, I recommend this product.
"Cost Effective Improvements"
Having already used mains and analogue signal Zapperators in my system for several years I recently turned my attention to the digital streaming side of things. There are unused USB ports on the back of my NAS drive and also the back of my router. Plugging in USB Zapperators to both devices produced a noticeable improvement in clarity and detail with a smoother, more analogue sound, if you like. I've come to expect improvements when Zapperators are used with more expensive source and output equipment so I suppose it's no surprise that they produce a big improvement when plugged into equipment which probably wasn't designed with screening from RF and other EM interference in mind. If your router and/or music server/NAS drive have unused USB sockets then I'd recommend fitting these. If like me your primary source of listening material is now streamed digitally I'd go so far as to say that these USB MiniZaps might just be the most cost effective way of improving the music you hear.
