    Ringmat's LP STATMAT enhances the reproduction of recorded music by preventing low level voltage surges which affect the signal and the sound quality.

    This is achieved by a specific pattern of conductive inks which even out the electrostatic charges which build up as the platter and spindle rotate.

    The LP Blue statmat comprises two Statmat films, one each side of a polyester substrate designed to be used under a record.

    The Statcap is a third film which sits on top of a record.

    These three antistatic films are placed at 90º to each other. The configuration is very much more powerful that way and helps to eliminate all those “clicks” and “pops” caused by static and preventing the record mat from being “stuck” to the underside of the disc when it is lifted at the end of play.

    There is also a further benefit in using the latest LP Statmat configuration in that unwanted electronic fields arising from playing LP records, which cause phase distortions to the signal, are largely eliminated. The full extent of this problem is not appreciated without doing A/B comparisons with and without the Statmat devices.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
    "Simply Astonishing Improvement"
    Although I don’t have a Ringmat plattermat, I gave the LP Blue Statmat and Statcap a try because RA assured me that it should still work with my Origin Live mat. I set the Blue Statmat under my OL mat with the Statcap on top of the label aligned as instructed.
    On went ‘Tunnel of Love’ by Dire Straits and the result was astonishing. As if a veil had been lifted, with tighter, more tuneful bass, extra detail and life in the vocals and and a bigger sound stage, all with no harshness. In short, the music was transformed from pretty good hi-fi to simply really great music! This transformation was repeated with other well known and loved tracks. I can’t wait to re-visit my whole vinyl collection!
    Quite how these tiny sheets of plastic have this effect on the music is a mystery. It is easy to be cynical about such seemingly flimsy products but the proof is in the listening. Without doubt, relative to the purchase cost, this upgrade was the cheapest and the best I have ever made to my system.

    "Static Gone!"
    Having used the CD statmat I was quietly confident that the LP version wouldn't disappoint. Static pops and clicks are now a thing of the past and there is a new clean warmth to the sound that lets more detail come through. I will point out that this is a very delicate product and can be a bit fiddly to put over the spindle so not sure about its longevity but you will be rewarded for your effort.
