Introducing the PowerKord-508™

We are delighted to be able to expand the range of our PowerKords™ fitted with Figure-8 plugs. The additions to the range have been brought about by the introduction of the superb new WattGate™ Figure-8 plugs which mean that we can at last fit Figure-8 plugs onto the larger PowerKords™ with more connectors.



Where would you use a PowerKord-308?™

You would use the PowerKord-308™ or PowerKord-508™ on any piece of equipment with a figure-8 socket! They are perfect on CD players, DVD or Blu-ray players, amplifiers, TV screens, Sky boxes and other Freeview or Freesat set-top boxes.


If you already use one of our PowerKord-8s™, our experience has shown that you can expect a significant upgrade in performance when moving up to the PowerKord-308™ or 508™. The PowerKord-308™ has twice as many conductors as the PowerKord-8™ and delivers better bass with more musicality. The PowerKord-508™ has 50% more conductors than the PowerKord-308™ and is the very best performing model; you should fit it if you want the best performance for your figure-8 equipment.


PowerKord-508™ Cable Features

  • Progressing from the established Kimber woven cable design used in earlier PowerKords, PowerKord-500™ features a much thicker earth, more than twice the size of previous models. In our opinion, a good, low impedance earth is critical for achieving a rich, natural sound.

  • The larger gauge earth also serves to expand the woven cable. We call this our new wide-format woven geometry.

  • Finally, the PowerKord-500™ is encapsulated in an improved Noise Reduction sleeving. The sleeving uses a combination of two strand thicknesses to achieve flexibility and a softer, more tactile feel to the cable.


    • The right connection

    Many modern Hi-Fi and Home Cinema components - such as your Blu-ray player or Sky box - are fitted with a Figure 8 socket. Up until now, there has never been an audiograde Figure 8 connector.


    The PowerKord-508™ is fitted with the Rhodium plated WattGate 370 EVO™ figure-8 plug which features a four Layer Plating Process for maximum conductivity – in our tests, the best performing plug.

    Both of the WattGates™ fitted to the PowerKords™ have high spring-rate terminals for a secure connection to your equipment and the plugs grip onto the cables tightly with proprietary WattLock™ capture boxes. The plugs are non-magnetic and have a durable polycarbonate plug shell.
