overview
  • Great value grounding with performance way beyond its price

  • Simple plug-in solution to connect your casework to ground

  • Selective RF Filter technology

  • High-quality, nickel-plated binding posts

What is the Plug-in RF Router?

Our new plug-in version of the RF Router makes it even easier to benefit from grounding the metal casework on your system. It has been designed specifically for those not wanting to use an additional earth spike or having to replace a wall socket to enable a ground connection. You simply plug in this RF Router to any spare socket – either on the wall or in your extension – and connect to your system via one of our ground wires or Technical Ground Weave.

The Router works by separating off RF grounding, effectively 'dumping' high frequency noise out of your system. In use in our systems, the RF Router brought about a surprisingly large improvement in sound quality giving a cleaner sound with less 'hash', more solid bass and better soundstage width and depth.

Who should use the RF Router?

Anyone wanting a simple solution that enables them to benefit from system casework grounding with the least hassle. Use it to link the casework grounds of your CD player and amplifier, for example, or to add effective grounding to your Home Cinema components.

Read our Guide to System Grounding

You will need cables to connect your component casework to the RF Router and to connect the RF Router to a grounding point. Click here for standard ground wires or, for even better performance, we recommend using our Technical Ground Weave - click here for details.

"the sonic improvements from this system were significant ... the amount of new music that emerged from my mature hi-fi chain after adding the Russ Andrews Router was large indeed."

“music sounds more open and seems to have better dynamic range, which generally indicates a reduction in background noise. The RF Router clearly does its job beautifully… and it’s very easy to implement.”

It took me about 10 mins to install the router between a SuperSocket earth terminal and my new earth rod. I'm really into acoustic guitar at the moment so my first choice of CD was Paco Pena's Fabulous Flamenco! and within the space of half a track I knew that whatever the router does and however it does it the result is quite astonishing.

My initial reaction was that the sound was just so "relaxed", as though some strain & stress had been taken out of the reproduction. I find the effect quite hard to describe, it's sort of subtle and profound all at the same time. The maestro's mastery of his instrument was transparent and the guitar gained both in texture & fine detail (if I didn't know better I'd say that it now sounded like two guitars playing rather than one!). I could hear more notes & decays were wonderfully prolonged.

I played the whole cd right through a couple of times, forgetting that I had intended to watch last night's World Cup match, and then indulged in a bit of Kraftwerk's Tour De France. I listened to that twice as well, finally going to bed at 2am quite beguiled by the whole experience.

Of course there is always a temptation to want to believe that having spent c£200 on an upgrade the result justifies the expenditure, but in this case I think that this understandably favourable expectation is entirely matched by the outcome. And if it is an illusion, it's a delight and it's got me convinced! As you predicted, I LOVE it! So, it's Rodrigo y Gabriela next... WOW!

Only last week I took delivery of your new AC-24 power supply and RF Router.

With the TT PSU, early impressions are of a more solid bass and improved detail across the whole soundstage. I expect this to improve further with time.

As for the RF Router, I can only say WOW!!! Having initially played the Stones Gimme Shelter to test the AC-24, I then connected the RF-Router between my Power Block with Ultra Sockets and external earth spike. From the opening bars of the same track, it revealed yet another layer of previously hidden information in the track. I was quite struck about two thirds of the way through to hear a piano accompaniment I've never heard before, and I've played this track hundreds of times. I've only ever heard it previously when seeing the band live in concert. Well, now I can hear it in the comfort of my own living room.

"A System Essential"
Bass has become tauter and deeper, the crash of cymbals clearer and everything else in between has gained a greater sense of realism. If you are thinking of upgrading a component in your system, it is worth looking at this first . It has helped show what my system is really capable of.

"Fantastic"
I recently added grounding to two very different systems - one an all digital family entertainment system, the other a bespoke, all analogue, valve amplification system. The improvement has been consistent across both systems, bass has more weight yet at the same time more speed and grace and articulacy, soundstaging and imaging are more complete, more detail and decay and musical expression, and all the musical elements just seem to be better proportioned, both individually and in relation to one another. I have been listening to and upgrading hifi for nearly 25 years and have never heard an improvement quite of this nature, which tells me straight away that grounding is the only way to achieve this. The value for money on offer here is exceptional. I must say a big thank you to Peter Bevir for his guidance and knowledge in getting this set up properly.

"Stunning Product"
I’ve grounded my network player, dac, amp and sub , all with the technical ground wires. The effect is brilliant. Test it with some ambitious music and you will hear that your system has been elevated to the higher level. It’s more of everything. I was also surprised about the bass amount increase from my sub. I needed to turn down the crossover to half what it was before. It’s quite addictive to make your system improve with the new products like this but I love it and will not stop at this point. Russ Andrew’s customer service is excellent. Thank you for being patient and helpful. Will get back to you soon!

"An Upgrade For Ra Switch"
This is my send review of the plug in RF Router. Originally added to main system and now second one connected to my RA Network Switch. Prior to the upgrade I was already delighted with the switch, but thus has been taken to a whole new level. Material uplift in sound quality, the separation of each instrument is so much clearer, a lower noise floor, beautiful vocals and a presence that I have not heard before. The upgrade also improved the TV picture quality and sound for anything being streamed.

"Superb Improvement For Such A Modest Outlay"
I had been considering the grounding of my system for some time and finally decided to upgrade. I originally used the ground weave and spike connected from the wall socket earth but this is now not allowed. Utilising the the existing external parts I have added the RF router and associated cables. I was very impressed by the improvement across the frequency range. Bass is more pronounced, yet firmer. Higher frequencies are clearer. Overall there is a general lifting of the clarity and integrity to the sound. I have spent less than 1% of the overall cost of my system but the payback is more like a major component upgrade.

"Huge Jump In Performance For The Money..."
It is a shame you have to scrape some paint of your cherished kit, and likely very expensive kit, to get this to work but if there is no bare metal you obviously have no choice to get a connection. I did try on top of the paint first to be sure with no effect as you would expect. I took the plunge and in my circumstances it was well worth it with the minimal, in HiFi terms, cost of the RF Router and Technical Ground Weave. As advertised and reviewed the soundstage opened up considerably with much better defined and fully bass. Yet another great product.

"Stunning Performance"
This is a must buy product for anyone who loves music. After linking the technical ground weave cable and plugging it in, I was staggered by its performance from the off. The bass is now stunning, coupled with a detailed organic sound that makes you want to listen for hours. The RF Router seems to bring out the best in every component, Kimber Cable, PowerBlock etc. leading to a massive overall improvement. This could be the best thing Russ has produced and certainly is for the price!

"Excellent Upgrade"
Already a believer in grounding Hifi products. However, £189 for this plug? Sceptical? You bet....However, bass became tighter, deeper & most surprising of all the soundstage became wider on an already decent setup. The sum of the parts does not add up to the asking price. The R &D & the results achieved certainly do! Buy this product & ground all your components...it may shock you!!

"Excellent Value Upgrade"
My CD based system is relatively modest with components around the £650 mark.

I'm using this product with the standard pre-made Russ Andrews grounding wires and it's made a surprisingly large improvement to the sound. It's a lot more more spacious with all instruments more clearly defined in their own space. The overall sound balance seems to have improved too with it sounding less "shouty".

"System Grounding - Incredible!"
I have been buying hifi for 35 years , I run a lovely big system straight off the mains with aftermarket cabling, I have tried various other companies grounding ideas and products with price tags up to 3000 pounds for the so called best option of course I did not purchase it wasn't that good and blimey 3000 your joking, I have just installed the standard cables required for the plug in router , simply placed it into a spare socket on my block , and my god I was not prepared for what happened , all I can say is if you read this and you wish to experience real magic in 3D with gains in every sound description ever mentioned before plus some magic I cannot describe, go straight to the order page and buy Russ Andrews grounding system, im now ordering the technical weave which will give your system more of this magic , if you do not believe in magic buy the grounding system sit back and enjoy I have never experienced an improvement like it in 35 years.
