Kimber Select USB - Copper (Cu)
Inspiration for the KS-USB series came from both the previous Kimber Select range of USB interconnects and their innovative Axios headphone cables. Both material and design cues from each combined to create a newer and more sophisticated trio of cables which lift performance to a new level.
As usual with Kimber’s interconnects, they come in three flavours to suit your system and your budget – the first in the range is the pure copper model featured here, with hybrid (pure copper and pure silver) above that, and finally the all-pure-silver top-of- the-range.
Attention to detail
Attention to detail is key to the impressive performance of the KS-USB. In the case of KS-USB Cu, the 100% pure copper signal conductors ensure a near lossless signal transmission. The over braided shielding (44awg copper with 8% silver plating) is circumferentially bonded to the USB connector shell with pure silver foil for maximum shielding performance.
The 5V DC conductor receives equal attention with the implementation of four, 24AWG pure copper conductors, ensuring very low voltage drop on the 5V DC line. Where the design of a DAC does not utilise this 5V DC line, these conductors are ingeniously used to augment the ground plane of the cable, pushing noise levels even lower.
Connectors
The high-quality connectors are hand-finished with blood wood and gaboon ebony. Each cable is then engraved with the model and a unique serial number.

USB types
Because of the handmade nature of the Kimber Select USB, it can be terminated with a wide variety of USB types and configurations. Plug options are A to B, A to C and C to C. Other bespoke termination configurations maybe available – please contact us.
