Digital-coaxial designs have the advantage of being high bandwidth, making them an excellent choice when dealing with large quantities of high-frequency digital information (even more important when streaming high-resolution files).






When connecting two pieces of equipment with a digital coax cable, it is important to ensure the cable is rated at 75 Ohms. This is to ensure ‘impedance matching’ between the components. Digital components will have been designed to send and receive at an impedance of 75 Ohms.
