Your first connection to the mains

The quality of the wall socket that feeds your system can have a positive effect on its performance. Even giving your existing socket a clean, and making sure the contacts are still tight, will bring benefits (always turn the electricity off before doing this). UltraSockets™ were originally designed for chassis mounting and you'll find them on our Award-winning X-Block™ mains extensions (this is why they are only available as a single outlet on a single or double faceplate).

We were so impressed with the performance that we custom-designed a faceplate (which is high impact and fire resistant for your peace of mind) enabling the new socket to be easily swapped for existing single or double wall sockets.

To improve performance, every UltraSocket™ is Deep Cryogenically Treated (DCT) and treated with DeoxIT® contact enhancer before shipping.

Dimensions: Double faceplate - 86mm x 146mm. These are the standard sizes for UK wall sockets, so there should be no modification required to fit an UltraSocket in place of a standard 13A socket.

"Ultra Socket Is Brilliant!!!!"
Been listening to the socket since I installed it and have to say it is brilliant. It is extremely well made and easy to fit, replacing a quite good socket which I suspected was adding brightness to my system and despite owning and using for years it never quite settled down -there always seemed something not right about the sound. Not the case with your socket, even before it settled in, it had tremendous focus and musicality which has only improved with continued use. Really like the sound of my system now, it was a worthwhile exercise and effective upgrade. Releasing great musicality and listening enjoyment is off the scale. Saving up for another one for our TV set up.

Yes, I recommend this product.
"Good But . . ."
These are clearly robust sockets, and the plug sits firmly in them with little movement. But this is just a Berker british standard socket and frame and can be purchased elsewhere for less than £10. Yes, they're a decent plug socket and if a back plate, DCT and a bit of deoxit = £89 then knock yourself out. Otherwise, look up the name mentioned above and save some cash ....
Customer Service Reply Thank you for your review and we’re glad that you’re enjoying the performance of the UltraSocket. The sockets in their ‘raw’ form are not suitable for wall-mounting so we designed and had made a custom back panel that allows the socket to be fitted safely and securely to an existing back-box. Since we are ordering relatively low quantities of the custom-made back panel, the cost of each panel, with the correct cut out for the socket, is high! As with most things in life you can assemble the parts together yourself and make a saving but we provide the UltraSocket for those who don’t want to buy the raw socket, send it away for Cryo treatment and fabricate a back panel to enable its use.

"Dct Ultrasocket"
This makes so much sense technically, after all systems start with the electric feed from the wall. I noticed a difference musically too with, I'm sure, even more dynamic contrast between the fortissimos and pianissimos. Very good build quality too, hence another serious endorsement product from the Russ Andrews establishment.

This made a noticeable improvement to the sound of my hifi - instruments sit in their own space within a silent background. Lovely music.
